heroïne

heroïne Su Wen-chi

heroïne explores the perception of time (as if diluted under the influence of a drug) and the limitations of physical freedom in a confined space.

Performed by Taiwanese Su Wen-Chi, the scent of meditation transforms into an interior trance. The body gradually cuts through the space that surrounds and encloses it, and it finally floats or vibrates in a sphere of light amid swirling accents. The one-hour lasting performance melts three spirals (dance, music, light) into a time-space continuum.

Born from the encounter between Wen-Chi Su and Arco Renz, heroïne develops a resolutely individual aesthetics, where the sense of pure form, of ritual, of slowness and trance develops into a vertiginous rhythmic escalation. The absence of dramatic narration opens the field to the emotional expressivity of abstraction.
