Ugo Dehaes (°1977, Leuven) starts to dance at the age of 18. After a year ballet classes and contemporary dance with teachers like David Hernandez, Benoît Lachambre and Saburro Teshigawara, he’s accepted at P.A.R.T.S., the international school for dancers en choreographers directed by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker.
From 1998 Ugo works for Meg Stuart/Damaged Goods. During three years he collaborates on the pieces appetite and Highway 101. In 2000 he founds the structure kwaad bloed together with Charlotte Vanden Eynde. From that point on he choreographs regularly pieces that tour extensively in Belgium and the rest of Europe. From 2015 the company is structurally subsidized by the Flemish Government.
In the mean while Ugo was also active as a dancer for other choreographers like Sachiyo Takahashi, Emil Hrvatin, Arco Renz, Gisèle Vienne & Etienne Bideau-Rey, Kataline Patkaï, Nada Gambier, Heine R. Avdal,… and as a performer and actor in numerous short movies, little performances and theater plays.
