Arco Renz facilitated the ChoreoLab Southeast Asia that took place in May 2015 in Kuala Lumpur.
The platform invites 15 emerging choreographers of the Southeast Asia region to collaborate for nine days at the Rimbun Dahan Arts Center. The participating choreographers are from Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines.
Each of the participants shared their particular choreographic approach, and Arco led the group in integrating this material into choreographic and analytical exercises. ‘Zeitguest’ speakers about topics not related to dance also addressed the group, providing surprising impetus information about diverse topics such as regional security, economics and marine biogeography.
